JUDITH HILL:
BLACK WIDOW
Grammy-winning singer and Prince protégé Judith Hill’s latest record “Letters From a Black Widow” was featured in The New York Times. The article traces how the singer, in the wake of the deaths of Michael Jackson and Prince, was targeted by online trolls as "Black Widow" for her close associations with each musician in their final months.
Traumatized by both the losses and the harassment, Hill transformed these misogynistic smears into ammunition for an epic, gospel-gothic rock opera composition of the same name.
"Black Widow" is one of a pair of black-and -white music video collaborations with Judith Hill. The second is Dame de la Lumière, premiered exclusively by Rolling Stone magazine.
